The sky was clear on this cool fall night, the breeze was soft but its kiss was icy. The moon hung high, her protective gaze watched peacefully over the sleeping earth as her precious varg began to roam freely. The stars danced and sang their lonely song, complimenting the large lunar sphere with their dazzling presence. Far below the magnificent heavens lay a quite different scene. High rocky cliffs stood looming over a narrow path, long and winding. Small rocks slipped from their tops as other creatures of the night sneered down at the lone traveler. Their piercing gaze only angered him and he returned their glare. His vicious orange eyes glanced up only once and sent them running in fear. His blood washed fangs bared slightly in a warning, or more of a dare. His soft pads struck the hard rock in silence, his stealth clearly noted by those who could see or smell him, but not hear him at all. His head was hung low, relaxed but protecting the vital arteries in which his precious blood ran thick and hot. His deep orange eyes stared straight ahead, watching the darkness intently. His tail bobbed back and forth with his steady rhythm, a slow constant jog. His sensitive nose twitched at the strong smell of water, and his ears fell forward at its soft rushing sound. His eyes flashed with a sort of hidden smile and his pace quickened slightly. Soon he melted out of the shadows of the deep cliffs, the large wolf slowed to a walk as his keen eyes caught sight of the water. It fell from the tops of smaller cliffs and hit the quiet pool below. He moved to its edge, his eyes shifting cautiously in all directions, noting that he was alone. He lowered his leathery lips to the icy cool liquid and lapped it up greedily. When he was finished he lowered his haunches to the hard cold stone, his long tail wrapped around his body. His slick pink tongue ran over his lips, savoring the left over water that stuck to them. His thoughts soon to take over as he waited beneath the moon for other varg to come for the water. Sahaal Forest had been very quiet since Endre had taken off. He hadn’t mentioned where exactly he went to, only that it was urgent and that great things would fall into place from this visit he must make. Balder hadn’t asked any questions, respecting his alphas choice, and knowing he would never jeopardize his reign over all of Amorak. A dangerous light flared in his eyes as he thought of all the possibilities, and soon enough a cruel grin tugged at the corners of his mouth. A large rock crashed into the earth behind him and all his muscles tensed quickly. He leapt up and spun with grace. Hackles standing on end, his tail high above his back, he lowered his front end ready to pounce if need be. His tough leathery lips curled back to reveal well used fangs, used to ripping flesh and unafraid to do it again. His toes flexed and large claws tugged at the rock below him. “Show yourself!” His voice was deep, and his growl rolled like thunder. The scent of another was strong as he waited for them to come from the shadows…

From the shadows emerged the form of one. The cruel one, the one who had dedicated his life to killing those who put him down, killing. Why he killed? He didn't know. Perhaps he wanted to find something Something to fill a viod in his heart, a viod he had remembered ever since he was a cub. He blinked his staring eyes. He twitched his ears, now noticing Balder in the area. Balder...he thought. Balder obviosly didn't like Zengo. A low growl emerged in his throat. He'd always be at danger with Balder hating him. He had to change that. He'd have to somehow prove himself to Balder. Perhaps make a..what was that word? Oh yes. Friend.
The growl ended, his silently trotted towards Balder. As he was walking, a large rock was moved, crashing near him. He leaped forwards a bit, startled, though his eyes were searching. He started to growl again, this time moving backwards towards Balder, so now Balder was visable to him, along with him being visable to Balder. Hopefully Balder wouldn't attack him. He was almost next to Balder now, he stopped. His fangs were bared, his eyes still searching. What had caused that rock to move? His ears stood straight. Listening.

From the shadows came stumbling the idiot Zengo. Balder relaxed and rolled his eyes, the fool came backwards at him, glaring into the shadows, ready to fight a ghost or something of the sorts. Ever since their encounter in the crater with Endre, Balder has had a sore spot for Zengo. He glared down his nose at him, his leathery lips pulled back in a snarl, “Fool, you are mad walking about backwards…” He stopped his insult short, his sensitive nose twitching quickly as the breeze blew by. Quickly he to was backing up next to his enemy. Hackles were on end again and his ears lay flat against his skull, tail held high, he was ready to fight again. He crouched low to the rocky earth, muscles tense, his orange eyes intent on the shadows. “It’s a bear.” He growled quietly to Zengo, “Don’t try anything stupid, if we are going to get out of this alive we will have to work together.” He spoke quickly and in a soft tone, his growl a quiet roll of thunder, his hot breath spilling into the listening ear of his fellow varg. He said this only because the path the bear came by was the only exit except for the steep cliffs behind them. His mind was whirling, what could they do? They were only two wolves and this bear was going to be large, most likely a mother coming to the water hole to fish for her cubs. Though he was nervous you wouldn’t be able to tell by the statuesque stance he held, he was still as a rock and quiet as one as well. His breathing was shallow and controlled no smell of fear seeped from his pores. His heart beat like a war drum in his chest, melting with the sounds of Zengo’s breathing, the waterfall, and the now evident grunts of the approaching bear. His vicious eyes darted to Zengo and a wicked smile fell upon his handsome face, “Hope you enjoy the hunt, because tonight he feed our kin bear.” He growled softly with a chuckle. “I hate you, and you know that, but in this moment you listen to me and I listen to you. Understand?” Complete seriousness had taken over his features now.

Zengo was about to snap at Balder for being an idiot, but as Balder's second sentence hit his ears, he felt a smug grin cross his lips. Idiot... He thought, though he knew his hatred was only a cover up. His muscles tensed as the bear came lumbling forward. It appeared it was a mother. Fishing perhaps? As Balder's next sentence escaped his lips, he had to admit that he was right. They had to work together, otherwise it would be one of those, predator to prey, things. His eyes narrowed as he looked around, observing the bear. What would it try? His ears twitched. Bear. He'd eaten that before. As Balder finished speaking, asking Zengo a question. He paused for a short moments, but he knew what Balder said was true.
He nodded. "Aye" He replied simply. Nothing more needed to be said. He understood, the expression on his face clearly showed that. Yes, they'd have to know each other's moves before they were made to face this down without a few scars. Of course, it'd be worth it to feed the pack bear. His teeth still bared, his ears flattened against his head. Now was the time of truth.

Balder nodded at Zengo’s sharp response. Already his respect had risen slightly at his cooperation in this stressful situation. He slowed his breathing, his whole self relaxing and sinking lower to the earth in a dangerous crouch. Many muscles rippled in his legs and powerful haunches. Vicious orange eyes darted, his mind thinking how they could bring her down and stay alive. He focused on the bear, they were between her and the water, they would need to move to be out of complete danger and to take the advantage. Without even glancing at Zengo he hissed a quiet command. “From now on no words, speak with your silence. Go to the right.” He slipped silently into the shadows, melting out of sight and down wind from the bear to the left. He crawled over rocks and dodged stepping on leaves or other materials that would give away his position. He peeked from the far side of a large boulder a ways away from their starting position. His eyes finding the bear than Zengo, he would let him make the next move. The adrenaline rush he received from the hunt, from stalking something that could kill him with ease sedated his hatred for his fellow varg. For now they were one and they would swiftly kill this beast.

ooc: No probs ^^
bic: Zengo gave a nod, only a very slight one at that. He wouldn't rick being seen over a mere nod. He crouched low to the ground and slunk slowly off towards the right of the giant creature, one eye on his prey and the other one his pack mate. He made sure to place his paws in the right places, avioding cracks and stray rocks.
It was his turn to make a move, that he sensed. He made a signal with his head to explain his plan. Zengo would get in behind the beast, drawing it's attention away from the fron, and Balder could attack the bear's thraought as it turned. He smiled a toothy grin. It would have to be done right. Now.
He leaped out from his cover, tho still silent. The bear didn't notice him. He was right near the bear's tail, so he ducked and grabbed the bear's back paw with his fangs, sinking them in, then releasing and backing off. The bear was about to turn. It was up to Balder now.

Balder’s vicious gaze followed the bear’s every move, it was clear something was up. He saw it in the beast’s eyes, she was clever and this might kill them both. Her small ebony pools were focused on the water, but her body language screamed that was she ready for the attack, this was bad, and Balder only hoped that Zengo had caught this as well. Perhaps they could run for the path as soon as she had cleared it and entered the water, if not he only hoped Zengo’s move was made before she entered the pool. For a wet bear is twice as heavy. He exhaled slowly as he caught sight of Zengo, his head bobbing like a puppy. This was going to be disastrous. He tried to tell Zengo to wait but he had leapt fm his hiding place too quickly. Balder stood, a deep growl of irritation leaked from his throat, he was going to get them both killed by doing this. He sprung forward, muscles rippling, pushing him forward, adrenaline coursed through his veins. The bear stood, her loud scream was deafening as massive clawed paws swung back at Zengo’s body. Balder was there now; the bear’s musky stench flooded his nostrils and made him dizzy for a second. His hackles stood at full attention, ears were laced tightly to his skull, and long fangs glistened with saliva from his hungry mouth. He was crouched low to the ground, dodging her deadly blows. He wasn’t sure if she had hit Zengo or not, he had lost sight of him when she had exploded. She threw her head back and roared again, perhaps calling for another. But she was soon silenced. Balder had taken this opportunity to move in. He flew forward, Steele trap jaws snapped tightly around her throat. Warm blood filled his mouth; her voice was gurgled as her throat too filled with blood. He twisted his body, flinging himself from side to side, ripping at her flesh. Large strong paws wrapped around him as she attempted squeezing the life out of him. His eye rolled back into his head as the air left his body and he felt his ribs being crushed, but he didn’t let go, he never would, not until there as no life left in her body. He wondered where Zengo was, these last 30 seconds seemed like forever, and he thought perhaps he had been abandoned. As the life began to leave both him and the bear a vision of Endre flashed across his mind. He had let him down, he was to be leading while he was away, and he hadn’t been at all. At this thought his eyes snapped open, and his strength returned to his bite.
(oh man sorry…I wrote in conversations too…sorry if this is kind of unorganized but I feel frazzled haha)
