Zanuke loved the rain. Raising his muzzle to the sky, taking in Heaven's tears, he let the damp coldness roll off of his fur, wash away his memories. His thoughts. For the moment, Zanuke was only living for the hour. For the minute. He grinned, closing his eyes and listening over the roar of the weather to Vonrhei's words. Less distractions? Continue their conversation? Perhaps that meant she was really interested in their talk. It wasn't some mask she put on. Weren't words she'd heard spoken somewhere.
His maw parting, the mascu let his tongue loll out before looking back to his new companion. She was drenched. Close enough, anyway. Zanuke imagined he must look the same way. Fur plastered down, dripping from every angle, skinny beyond all reason. The wolf chuckled, his ears rising forward in Vonrhei's direction. "Do you like to run?" He asked, not really intending to hear her answer. He wanted to, but the brute was suddenly impatient. Thoughts of their conversation still lingered in his head. More theories, more explanations, stories, provocative thought... the alpha was addicted to it.
Turning around a second after speaking, Zanuke took off. His tail waving faintly behind him like a banner, soaked to the bone in the rich, delicate rainwater. Over rocks, around trees, past streams and hallows and logs and animals, through puddles of water and under low-grown branches the mascu ran. He tried to stay slow, steadying his pace so that Vonrhei could keep up, could see him in the darkness, until finally he emerged in a clearing. Orbs roaming the damp meadow, the brute finally found what he had been searching for. Nestled between a boulder and an overgrown tree lay the cave, it's entrence small, but as Zanuke knew - it's cavern quite large.

Vonrhei smiled as he asked her of running. She did like it, the freedom that it instilled in her very being was enough of a drug to be high off of, though not harming to the body. He turned and she followed, springing to graceful, and yet clumsy paws that would potentially or eventually cause her to trip and fall, but she kept a close watch on the ground, holding back her speed for the finer movements that agility allowed. Weaving, sharp turns, leaping, and the other forms of moving that running could bring life to.
She tailed Zanuke at a fair distance, just enough where she could see him, and possibly hear him if he spoke, she followed until they’d reached the meadow, and paused to a moment until she spied the small dark entrance as well. She wondered if it were that small inside, and if it was, how would they both fit within. She trotted closer to Zanuke, her paws coming to a halt when she came to the side of the alpha.
It was here that Vonrhei answered his question. "I do enjoy running, but I'm afraid that I can be a little clumsy at times." Oculars scanned the meadow again, and her plume gave a wave, similar to a light breeze running over a flag. She could feel her lean muscles rippling with excitement from the run, though hidden beneath her thickening coat.

His heart still racing from the exertion, Zanuke almost hated the idea of entering the cave. The wind in his face, the rain on his fur, the chill in the air, and the exhaustion that a good run could bring made him want to turn tail and fly out into the night. But he didn't. The alpha didn't need to catch any sort of cold... Heaven knew things were bad enough. Yet... he dared hope that when the rain stopped, maybe he and Vonrhei could share a good jog together. They're minds seemed similar enough, their interests... maybe their graces were just as familiar.
Turning his head back to watch as the fem came up behind him, the mascu gave a welcoming smile. He was pleased she'd followed with ease, himself having gotten a little carried away with the joy of exercise. "I think every wolf can say that." He admitted, recalling his own... embarassing "tumbles". Ears laying low, his tail taking shelter beneath his body, the wolf then stepped closer to the dark entrance of the cave. Giving his fur a good shake to rid himself of the water, the Tyaro alpha led the way into the cavern.
It's dazzling darkness was the first thing to meet his golden oculars. However, as time was given to adjust, the mascu let his gaze roll over the water-worn walls and curvy, symmetrical pathways. Down and down the path led, soaked in the run-off rainwater from the meadow above. Yet it wasn't a slippery decent, merely a muddy one. Zanuke could feel his paws sink into the dirt and grime, but pushing the sensation aside, he was amazed by the brilliance of the cave. Especially when he made it to the bottom, the cavern, and the walls opened into a very large room. Overhead there were a few holes, poked into the ground by natural causes, allowing the faint sunlight to filter through into the damp world below. Beautiful... He thought silently. Especially in the rain...

Vonrhei followed his lead, slipping in surprisingly easy, she had seemed to have forgotten about her dainty, lean stature. She shook herself as droplets sprayed around her and soaked into the sodden ground around her. "It is rather easy to be clumsy isn't it." she commented to more herself than Zanuke.
As they traveled deeper her mitts stuck into the dirt, then pulled free with ease, but it was still a tiring progress to trek through thick mud. As the tunnel widened into a cave Rhei's steely oculars adjusted to the light, pupils enlarging to draw in the few rays of light that were filtered. The cavern had a strange beauty about it, something that makes you feel like there's an air familiarity.
"Wow," she breathed, she could only just see scenes from her childhood, not always a good thing, but she blinked the memories away, she didn't want to have to leave so soon because she was a little homesick. She wanted to stay with Zanuke and meet some of his friends. She was still pondering of his pack.

The soft drumbeat on the cavern's roof was lulling, the raindrops creating a sort of... rhythmic hymn that echoed through the otherwise silent features of the cave. Zanuke smiled, glancing over the fragile rays of sunlight that danced through the darkness. Mud aside, this place was quite spectacular. In it's own way, of course. The mascu had never known another area like it, nor wanted to. This was his haven. His shelter when memories became to much for him to bear.
Shaking his coat free of the collected water and mud, Zanuke looked back to his new friend, shooting her a friendly grin. "I found this place quite by accident one evening." He explained, chuckling a bit at the thought and remembering her words about being clumsy. "Slipped into the entrance and kept on going..."
Oh... it had been a bumpy ride, and the landing less than perfect, but now that the experience was over Zanuke found it a little humorous. "It gets us out of the rain, at least" He added, finishing his tale and looking back toward the oddly lit cavern. Taking a few steps forward, the mascu sat down upon a slight rise, elevated and safe from the muddy grime that coated most of the area around it. He looked back once more to Vonrhei, wondering if she would have anything to say.

Steely gaze flitting about the cave again, Vonrhei also found this place to be stunning. Gorgeous in an almost gloomy way, she could easily hear the chorus of the rain and see the filtered light dance on the walls and ground. A smile again graced her black lips as she joined Zanuke in his chuckling, only hers more feminine and equivalent to a giggle. "My brothers used to tease me by tagging me, then seeing how far I could run without falling. I couldn't make it past ten steps." She laughed, it was funny, but seemed rather cruel of them too.
She sighed and joined the brute upon the rise, though a little further away. She seemed to be arguing with herself between status and friendship, she wasn't allowing herself too close. "They were mean at times, but they were all older too, so I suppose they were trying to toughen me up." Rhei gave a slight huff noise. "So, how large is your pack right now?"
Her auditives pricked forward in interest as she awaited this answer, she’d been pondering this for a short while now, but still needed more information before she would make her final decision. She also should go out to find the other alphas of the land, but she would wait for that, or at least until today was over and done with and she parted her way with Zanuke until fate would lead them to meet again.

The mascu listened intently, sharing a grin at her experience and thinking of his own brother. Vaguely he wondered if Vonrhei would ever go back to her pack, but he couldn't possibly guess the answer. She seemed... unwilling to get to close to him. Almost as if she were reserving herself for a pack, or perhaps a friend, that might offer more than her family could. It was only Zanuke's thinking, but he thought he sensed a need for that same familiarity that came with blood relations. Give me a chance... and I might prove more than you would think... He thought faintly, suddenly realizing how... drawn to her he was. Shifting uncomfortably, the brute lowered his ears and looked out over the dark, damp, and yet beautiful place they were in.
"My brother used to do the same to me. Leading me into the forest and suddenly abandoning me. I always found my way home, and I thank him for the independance it taught me... but sometimes I look back and think it was a little cruel as well." He explained, allowing another small smile to crawl over his muzzle. Leaning his head back, the mascu looked up at the ceiling, trying to see past the rocky overhead into the rain above. "Tyaro Lake is still very small... but I almost appreciate the closeness that such a size instills." He said it almost as if talking about his own pack... his own family. His wolves were not related to him, but Zanuke had always felt an almost brotherly love for the ones that chose to join him. "You... are always welcome to join me - to join Tyaro Lake - if you wish." He said, hopeful that maybe she might consider it. Suddenly the thought of losing Vonrhei seemed scary, depressing... Almost like losing Amaari.

“Yes, I was thinking of that, but I wish to wait and see what the other alphas are like before I make a final decision.” She closed her eyes and thought almost wishfully of the family life again. She was so determined to stay away from her mother and father, to prove that she could make it on her own, and she’d been so far successful. But the more she thought about it, the more she longed for a stable home. And if not that, then something constant in her life. But it was like she had said: wait and see. She was driving herself to be cautious, holding back her enthusiasm of his offer. If it wasn’t for her thought she would’ve said yes right away. She probably still would because he was the first she’d met here. “Though a small pack sounds nice, it means that I would be able to easily know everyone.”
Her eyes opened and she gazed thoughtfully through Zanuke, half wondering what he would say next, half wondering what he was thinking. She wasn’t at all brave enough to ask, it had never really been something she liked to push out of others, she wanted them to feel comfortable around her, to feel at peace. She didn’t want to force anything to be said, and she wasn’t fully sure that she wanted to know.

Zanuke, though disappointed with her answer, was equally impressed by it. Allowing one ear to fall sideways, the alpha shook his head playfully. His tail beginning to sway gently against the cave's cold flooring. For once in his life, he'd met a wolf who didn't jump on the bandwagon and go with the flow. She actually wanted to investigate the area, to get to know the leaders of the other sides. For once, Zanuke had met someone who didn't jump head first into a 'sticky' situation. Chuckling quietly, the alpha let his head roll back once again, taking in the ceiling and the damp darkness it held. He thought about calling for Amaari. Letting Vonrhei get to know the Morrow Fields alphess was no problem...
But Endre...
Suddenly the good mood was gone and Zanuke fell solemnly silent. What with the recent... 'events', the mascu couldn't possibly comprehend letting someone as special, as kindly, as Vonrhei get close to the Sahaal leader. He sent the fae a sideways glance, wondering if by chance she'd be satisfied with meeting Amaari... "I can tell you where to find Amaari, the alphess of Morrow Fields..." He explained, silently thinking about ways to keep her from seeing his own brother. If she had been a male... maybe... but as it was Zanuke felt protective not only because she was his friend. Endre had never had a very good way in dealing with the opposite gender...

“That would be helpful,” Vonrhei said, her velvety ears perking up. She grinned light-heartedly, she wondered if the other alphas, for she’d only been here a while and knew not if there were more than the three she’d heard of, were random in appearances. She wanted to meet every one, to at least sample what other packs there were. She didn’t want to choose right away even if she wanted to. She closed her eyes for a moment, and her sleek muzzle tilted hell bound, she thought about it, sufficient evidence of other packs was best, she knew, she ought to know by now even after being chased out of so many because she was passing through. “I‘m sure that I would enjoy meeting the alphess, but I would also like to meet the other.”
Her eyes flashed in the dim light, a sure sign that she was determined, and not about to change her mind. Her left glazed slightly, another sign, but her gaze never wavered, even as she gazed through the brute before her.
“There are only two others, right? I am correct and safe to assume that of this Amorak?” Her gaze became passive, and her ears relaxed to an almost limp look. Her gin became a lazed smile, and her tail still drifted slowly over the ground. It wasn’t that she was being foolish to think that all the alphas here were all made of sunshine and daisies, not at all, she just wanted to be sure that there weren’t more tight knit packs waiting for her. She just wanted to be sure that she wouldn’t regret becoming a member of a pack that she would end up not liking, and if she liked all the alphas, then of course she would join Tyaro, because Zanuke was neutral and she wouldn’t have to fight against her friends. Because she already had a friend.

How would Endre react to a wolf he knew was Zanuke's friend? The... 'happening' between him and Amaari had only taken place because of the brute's obsession with her... but if Vonrhei reminded Zanuke of Amaari, would she also remind Endre of her as well? Shaking his head, the neutral alpha gave up. He couldn't keep Vonrhei from seeing his brother, no matter how much he might protest. And Zanuke had already failed Amaari once in saying to much... he would not let it happen again.
"You're correct... there are three alphas that divide reign of Amorak." He explained, hesitating slightly. "I... must warn you about one of them, however. Endre isn't the most... sensible of wolves. I would prefer..." Zanuke paused, looking away suddenly and feeling his cheeks grow warm. "I would prefer if you didn't meet my brother alone." There, he'd said it. She was sure to ask why now. And what would Zanuke say?
His ears falling back against his head, the mascu couldn't hide the embarassment in his face. Endre was not the kind of person Zanuke had wanted him to become. And what the brute had done to Amaari was unthinkable... Zanuke couldn't hide the hatred he felt toward his brother's actions. But the Sahaal alpha was his brother. He deserved the wolf's respect, just as Vonrhei deserved his honesty.

True heart’s eyes flashed in the same determined way. “Alright then, I’ll meet him when I’m with you sometime. Unless… you are so uncomfortable with you brother, that you’d rather not… see him.” She chose her words carefully, she didn’t want to seem arrogant, even if that was how she was acting now, when she became like this she knew that not even her own self could stop this track, this bland determination was often times mistaken for foolish arrogance.
She licked her black lips, feeling rather sorry that she’d ever requested or told him that it was her decision to wait until she had met every last alpha here, just so that she knew of the packs. But she could already tell that she wasn’t going to join this Endre’s. He sounded cruel at best, or just very bitter in the least. She could see Zanuke was uncomfortable, but she wasn’t exactly willing to give up. Her mind didn’t work that way.
“We’ll set up a time and place. Then I will meet and pass my judgment on this brother of yours.” Her voice to her sounded comforting, warm and soft, and her expression showed the same. She shifted closer, and pressed her cheek to his shoulder in her friendly manner of an ‘its-okay-I-understand’ way. She was sure that Zanuke was good, and wasn’t going to hide her easiness about him now that she’d discovered that.

Zanuke's mind was reeling. Two things were absolutely certain, however. If Vonrhei wanted to meet Endre, she would have to do it with someone else around. Even if it wasn't himself. And also, Endre could not be allowed anywhere near Amaari. Zanuke simply wouldn't allow that. Vonrhei at least seemed able to protect herself... but Amaari... she'd been captured once, hurt once... Endre already had his control over her, and she needed time to recover from it. Allowing his ears to rise, the Tyaro alpha then turned to face his friend, about to voice his opinion when he suddenly felt her cheek on his shoulder.
A tingle went down his spine, and the mascu lost the words he'd been about to say. "I... uh... um... that sounds good..." He stuttered, sheepishly recoiling and feeling his cheeks grow warm. A funny smile crossed his maw, and he tried not to look directly at the fae. Get a grip. He told himself, realizing how strange he felt around her. A good kind of strange... yet uncomfortably confusing just the same. "We... heh... we can go meet Amaari right now... if you wish..." He whispered, suddenly feeling as if he'd been caught off-guard. As if nothing else in the world mattered but fulfilling her desires.

//That’s okay, it is taking me a fair space of time as well.//
She thought about his offer, to meet Amaari, it would serve one purpose of putting off her joining Zanuke’s pack. "Yes, that sounds fun." she said, sitting straight, she noticed the recoil, how he’d lost his train of thought and she kept the sight of his goofy smile locked in her mind. She wouldn’t say that she had noticed the change, she decided that it might hurt one’s pride if it were pointed out by company.
Vonrhei’s tail swayed slightly faster, she was slightly enjoying the memory of Zanuke’s strange slip up, and smiled rather passively, a butterfly making it’s way through her stomach as if she’d just swallowed one. She wondered if she was nervous, but let thought slip to the back of her mind as she pondered her plan of meeting Endre. She would not go against Zanuke’s wishes of her meeting his brother in his company, those words has set a warning in her mind to be careful around the said Endre.
Her mind turned to the weather outside the safety of the cave. She could hear that the rain had let up considerable, she made the observation that it had probably nearly stopped by now, and that it would be an adequate time to leave if she wished to meet someone, at least before the rain began to pour heavily again.
